A 4 Day Safari Trip to Kenya Masai Mara & Lake Nakuru offers an incredible wildlife experience, combining the vast savannah of Masai Mara with the birdlife paradise of Lake Nakuru. Expect to see the Big Five, the Great Migration (seasonal), and thousands of flamingos, along with other diverse wildlife and bird species. The trip typically includes game drives, cultural experiences, and scenic views of the Great Rift Valley.

Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park

On your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our company representatives for meet and greet services. Alternatively, we can pick you up from the Nairobi hotel early in the morning. Leaving the bustling city of Nairobi, we drive to the Rift Valley Circuit. You will have a stop at the viewpoint to see the Great Rift Valley. Across the equator, southwards of Bogoria, lies the Rift Valley’s most famous lake, Lake Nakuru. Known all over the world for its flamingoes, it is alkaline and is recognized as being one of the Natural Wonders of the World. Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, harboring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos, but the flamingos, of course, have always been the main attraction. At times, there may be almost 2 million flamingos in the residence, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around the edge of the lakeshore. You will arrive in time for lunch then have an afternoon game drive. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge.

Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner; Overnight at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge/Similar

Day 2: Lake Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast from the hotel, you will make your way to Masai Mara Game Reserve. We will drive via typical African savanna country dotted with local homesteads and colorful Masai herdsmen grazing their cattle. As the northern tip of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara hosts the spectacular seasonal migration of many thousands of wildebeest, zebras and attendant predators. We will proceed and arrive at camp with enough time to settle in before lunch with a little time to relax before we head out for our afternoon game drive. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner; overnight at Mara Serena Safari Lodge/Similar

Day 3: Explore Masai Mara Game Reserve

A full day is spent in Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. You will have the opportunity to spot the BIG FIVE, including lion, elephant, leopard, black rhino, and buffalo. You will visit the Mara River, which borders Kenya and Tanzania. You will have a chance of seeing Hippos and very large Nile Crocodiles, who lay in wait for prey as wildebeest cross on their annual quest to find new pastures.

Each year, Masai Mara plays host to the world’s greatest natural spectacle, the Great Migration of wildebeest from Serengeti National Park, Tanzania to Masai Mara, Kenya. From July to October, the promise of rain and fresh life-giving grass in the north brings more than 1.3 million wildebeest together into a single massive herd. They pour across the border into the Mara, making a spectacular entrance in a surging column of life that stretches from horizon to horizon. At the Mara River, they mass together on the banks before finally plunging forward through the raging waters, creating a frenzy as they fight against swift currents and waiting crocodiles.

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and dinner; overnight at Mara Serena Safari Lodge/Similar

Day 4: Masai Mara – Nairobi

Early morning game drive at sunrise followed by breakfast at the lodge/camp. We depart Masai Mara game viewing game en-route as you exit the park with the last picturesque of Amboseli. We drive back to Nairobi arriving Nairobi in the afternoon. You will be dropped at either your hotel or airport to connect with your home-bound flight depending on the arrangements where the safari end of 4 Day Safari Trip to Kenya Masai Mara & Lake Nakuru.

A 15 Day Kenya & Tanzania with Masai Mara, Serengeti & Zanzibar typically includes wildlife viewing in Kenya’s Masai Mara and Amboseli, Tanzania’s Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, and relaxation on Zanzibar’s beaches. The itinerary often features game drives, cultural encounters, and optional activities like boat rides and spice farm tours.

Next, you journey to Lake Nakuru, where flamingos paint the shores pink and rhinos graze in the golden light. In the Masai Mara, your family dives deep into the heart of the wild for two nights, witnessing lions, cheetahs, and the drama of the Great Migration across the vast plains.

Crossing into Tanzania, the adventure continues in the world-famous Serengeti, where two nights place you in the middle of untamed beauty. Wildebeest stampede, predators stalk, and every sunrise is a masterpiece. From there, you descend into the lush cradle of life—the Ngorongoro Crater, exploring a natural amphitheater teeming with wildlife. Then it’s off to Tarangire National Park, where ancient baobabs and playful elephants mark your final safari chapter. But the story doesn’t end here.

You board a flight to paradise—Zanzibar. For the final five nights, you stay at the stylish beachfront Hotel, steps away from powdery white sands and the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. Here, your days slow down. You swim, snorkel, explore Stone Town, or simply relax as the sun dips below the sea. This safari and beach holiday blends wild adventure with coastal serenity, tailored for couples, families, and friend groups, and even seniors seeking a once-in-a-lifetime escape.

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Your adventure begins as our warm and friendly Simba Gorilla Frontiers representative welcomes you in Nairobi—either at the airport or your hotel. After a short briefing about the days ahead, you meet your professional driver-guide, and together, you set off on a scenic drive southeast toward Amboseli National Park.

As the city fades behind, the landscapes begin to shift—rolling hills give way to open plains, and soon, the majestic silhouette of Mount Kilimanjaro rises in the distance, welcoming you to the wild. You arrive at your lodge just in time for lunch, where you relax and take in the fresh air and peaceful rhythm of the bush.

In the afternoon, your first game drive begins. The golden light spills across Amboseli’s acacia woodlands, scrub brush, and freshwater swamps as you venture out in search of wildlife. Towering elephants with massive tusks roam freely from swamp to swamp, grazing calmly. Zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, gazelles, and even hippos make appearances, offering thrilling encounters and photo opportunities.

As the sun sets behind Kilimanjaro, you return to camp. A hearty dinner awaits, and the sounds of the African night begin to stir. You fall asleep under canvas, with the soft rustling of the wild just beyond.

Please Note: If you’re arriving from a long-haul destination, we highly recommend arriving in Nairobi at least a day earlier to rest and adjust before starting your safari.

Accommodation

Overnight at Kibo Safari Camp, a charming mid-range tented camp just outside Amboseli National Park’s main entrance gate.

Meals: Lunch and Dinner will be provided.

Day 2: Amboseli National Park – Full day game drive in the park

You wake up to the soft light of dawn spilling over Mount Kilimanjaro, the world’s tallest free-standing mountain—its snow-capped peak glowing in the early morning light. Today promises a full day of adventure in the heart of Amboseli National Park.

After a hearty breakfast at your lodge, you head out with your packed lunch, ready for a full-day game drive through the park’s lush swamps and open plains. These marshlands, fed year-round by underground rivers from Kilimanjaro’s ice cap, are a haven for wildlife. You spot massive herds of elephants trudging calmly through the mud, splashing and grazing in the water-rich grasses. Hippos wallow nearby, while zebras, buffalo, giraffes, and gazelles dot the landscape.

If you’re an early riser, you may choose to begin your day with a sunrise game drive, catching predators like lions and hyenas at their most active before the heat sets in. Afterward, you return to camp for a relaxed breakfast and a bit of leisure time before heading back out.

During the midday heat, you take it slow. Relax on your veranda, sip something cool, write in your journal, or simply enjoy the view while birds chirp nearby and elephants pass in the distance. Amboseli, like its wildlife, slows down during the hottest hours—and so do you.

Later in the afternoon, as the sun begins to soften again, you head out for another game drive. The golden light bathes the land, offering one last magical glimpse of the animals before sunset. You return to camp just as the sky turns amber and purple, ready to enjoy dinner and recount the day’s incredible moments.

Day 3: Travel from Amboseli to Lake Nakuru National Park

After an early breakfast at Kibo Safari Camp, your journey continues as you bid farewell to the majestic views of Mount Kilimanjaro and begin your scenic drive north toward Lake Nakuru National Park. Today’s route takes you past Nairobi, through charming towns and rolling countryside, until you reach the dramatic Great Rift Valley viewpoint.

Here, you stop to stretch your legs and soak in the stunning panorama—endless escarpments, patchwork farmlands, and lakes shimmering in the distance. It’s the perfect spot for photographs and a few moments of quiet awe.

Around midday, you arrive in Lake Naivasha, where you pause for a delicious lunch at a lakeside hotel. The cool breeze off the lake and the surrounding acacia trees make for a refreshing break before continuing onward.

By afternoon, you arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park, a gem nestled in the heart of the Rift Valley. Without wasting a moment, you set off on a game drive, eager to discover what this vibrant ecosystem has to offer. The southern shore of the lake teems with wildlife—flamingos wade through the shallows while herds of buffalo graze in the open fields.

You may catch a glimpse of the rare Rothschild’s giraffe, with its unique white stockings, browsing in the acacia forests. With luck, you spot both black and white rhinos, a conservation success in this park. Keep your eyes on the treetops beneath Rhino Cliff—this is where lionesses nap in the branches and leopards silently roam.

As the golden light of evening begins to settle, you check into your lodge inside the park, ready to relax, refresh, and enjoy dinner after a thrilling day.

Accommodation

Spend the night at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge, a charming mid-range lodge located inside Lake Nakuru National Park.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara

After an early breakfast at your Lodge, you begin your journey deeper into Kenya’s legendary wildlife country. The road winds through the vast and dramatic Great Rift Valley floor, revealing ever-changing landscapes—lush highlands, scattered acacia trees, and the rolling savannah that slowly ushers you toward the famed Masai Mara National Reserve.

You arrive at your lodge just in time for lunch, welcomed by warm smiles and the tranquil sounds of the wild. After settling in and enjoying a hearty meal, the real adventure begins.

This afternoon, you set off on your first game drive in the Masai Mara—one of the most iconic safari destinations on the planet. The wide-open plains stretch endlessly in all directions, dotted with wildlife as far as the eye can see. Your guide leads you in search of the Big Five—lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and if luck is on your side, the elusive black rhino.

But the magic of the Mara doesn’t stop there. You’ll likely spot cheetahs lounging in the grass, towering giraffes moving gracefully through the acacia woodlands, and wildebeests and zebras grazing in great numbers. Keep your camera ready—hippos wallow in the Mara River, hyenas trot along the tracks, and impalas leap through the golden grass.

And don’t forget your binoculars—this reserve is a birdwatcher’s paradise, with over 500 species recorded, from vibrant bee-eaters to powerful birds of prey soaring above. Pro tip: We provide our drivers with an extra set of binoculars for your convenience.

As the sun begins to dip, the landscape glows in shades of amber and gold. You return to your lodge just before nightfall, heart full and eyes wide from the day’s encounters. A delicious dinner awaits, followed by a restful overnight stay surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature.

Day 5: Travel to Masai Mara National Reserve

You wake up to the soft calls of birds and the gentle light of dawn creeping over the plains. After breakfast at the lodge, you prepare for an unforgettable day—a full-day game drive across the vast, wildlife-rich savannah of the Masai Mara.

The day begins with the option of an early morning hot air balloon ride—an adventure like no other. As the balloon rises silently into the sky, you float above the golden grasslands and winding rivers. From the air, you spot herds of elephants, graceful giraffes, and maybe even lions on the move. After landing, you’re treated to a sumptuous bush breakfast set up in the wild—a memory that stays with you for a lifetime.

For those on the ground, the adventure starts after breakfast as you head deeper into the 1,500 square kilometers of unspoiled wilderness. The landscape is breathtaking—rolling hills, acacia woodlands, and vast open plains teeming with life.

Your guide navigates through different sections of the reserve, and you’re soon rewarded with close-up views of the Big Cats the Mara is famous for—lions, cheetahs, and perhaps the elusive leopard lounging in a tree. Elephants, buffalo, zebras, and giraffes appear in the distance, grazing peacefully as you watch in awe.

Around midday, you find the perfect picnic spot—beneath the shade of a flat-top acacia tree with panoramic views of the plains. Here, you enjoy your picnic lunch boxes, the sounds of nature your only soundtrack. Wildebeest and antelope graze nearby while birds swoop above—it’s an African dream come to life.

In the afternoon, you continue the drive, discovering hidden corners of the reserve and witnessing wildlife in their natural rhythm. Each turn brings a new surprise—a pod of hippos soaking in a muddy river, a pride of lions dozing under a bush, or a secretary bird striding through the grass. As the sun begins to set, casting a golden hue across the plains, you return to your camp, full of stories and sights to remember. Dinner awaits, followed by a peaceful night surrounded by the sounds of the African wild.

Day 6: Masai Mara to Serengeti Via Sirari Border

Today begins with anticipation and excitement as you leave behind the golden plains of the Masai Mara and set your sights on the legendary Serengeti in Tanzania. After breakfast, you set off on a long, scenic drive toward the Isebania border post, where Kenya ends and Tanzania begins.

The journey is full of ever-changing landscapes, rural villages, and occasional wildlife sightings along the way. Around midday, you arrive at the Isebania border, where your Kenyan guide assists you with immigration procedures. Here, you say goodbye to your Kenyan team and are warmly welcomed by your Tanzanian guide, who will accompany you for the next leg of your adventure.

Lunch is enjoyed en route, either at a local restaurant or packed to be had picnic-style, depending on the day’s timing. After crossing the border, the drive continues toward the expansive Serengeti National Park, a name that stirs the imagination with its endless golden plains and world-renowned wildlife spectacles.

As you enter Serengeti, the road may be bumpy—what we like to call an “authentic African massage”—but the scenery is nothing short of spectacular. Keep your camera ready, as this stretch of wilderness is often alive with zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and even predators on the move.

You arrive at your safari camp inside the Serengeti late in the afternoon. The sense of isolation and immersion is immediate—you’re now deep in the wild, surrounded by the rhythm of nature. Upon arrival, your guide and the friendly camp staff greet you with smiles and a refreshing drink, followed by a short safety briefing about staying in an unfenced camp where wildlife roams freely.

As the sun sets behind the acacia-dotted horizon, enjoy a warm dinner and take in the unforgettable sounds of the Serengeti night—a chorus of distant roars, chirping insects, and rustling leaves.

Optional Upgrade:

Day 7: Serengeti National Park

The air is cool and crisp, filled with the distant calls of birds and perhaps even a lion’s roar echoing from the night before. After a warm cup of coffee or tea, you set out early—this is prime time for spotting wildlife. The big cats are still active, and the golden light makes everything feel magical.

Your morning game drive unfolds like a scene from a nature documentary. You may encounter a pride of lions lounging after a hunt, herds of zebras and wildebeests grazing peacefully, or a cheetah scanning the horizon. Elephants roam silently through the grass, and hippos grunt lazily in the rivers. Every turn brings a new surprise.

After this unforgettable morning, you return to the camp for a hearty breakfast and a bit of well-deserved relaxation. The heat of the day settles in, and like the animals, you take it slow. You might lounge in the shade with a good book, write in your journal, or simply sit with a cool drink, watching colorful birds flit through the trees.

In the late afternoon, as the temperatures begin to drop and the wildlife stirs again, you head out for your second game drive of the day. The golden hour paints the savannah in rich hues as giraffes stretch for treetops, and elephants head to the watering holes. You might catch the majestic silhouette of a leopard resting in an acacia tree or hear the rumble of buffalo herds moving in the distance.

As the sun dips behind the hills, you return to camp for a warm dinner and another peaceful evening under the Serengeti sky, filled with stars and the soft sounds of the wild.

Day 8: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

You wake early to the quiet hush of dawn over the Serengeti. After a hot breakfast at 6:00 am, you set out for your final game drive through these legendary plains. The light is golden, the air is cool and refreshing, and the wildlife is just beginning to stir. It’s your last chance to catch a glimpse of the animals that call this wild paradise home—perhaps a leopard stretching from its tree perch or hyenas trotting back to their dens after a long night.

As you exit the park, you take one last look at the vastness of the Serengeti—its beauty now etched into your memory. With picnic lunches packed, you continue your adventure east toward a different wonder—the Ngorongoro Crater, a place many call the eighth wonder of the natural world.

By early afternoon, you reach the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and your vehicle begins its slow descent into the crater, one of the most unique and wildlife-dense locations on Earth. The road winds steeply down the rim, and soon you find yourself on the crater floor, surrounded by towering walls of ancient volcanic rock and some of the most diverse wildlife in Africa.

The crater spans approximately 20 km wide and 600 meters deep, and it feels like you’ve entered a secret, untouched world. You drive through lakes, rivers, forested patches, and open grassland, spotting elephants, zebras, lions, buffaloes, hyenas, wildebeests, and maybe even the elusive black rhino, one of just around 20 that live here.

What’s magical about the Ngorongoro Crater is how close the animals allow you to get. It’s as if they’ve come to accept the presence of safari vehicles, making this a photographer’s dream. Your guide shares stories and facts as you explore, adding to the wonder of each sighting.

After several hours on the crater floor, you slowly ascend back to the rim in the late afternoon, watching the landscape shift again as you climb. You arrive at your lodge just in time to settle in and freshen up before enjoying a warm dinner. From the terrace, you gaze out over the rim as the sun sets over this breathtaking land.

Accommodation

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Will be provided

Day 9: Ngorongoro to Tarangire National Park via Lake Eyasi

You begin your morning with a warm breakfast as the mists roll over the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. The air is crisp, and the landscape stretches endlessly in every direction—wild, raw, and beautiful. Today, your journey continues, and you’ll have two paths to choose from—each full of its magic.

For those craving culture and connection, you may choose to take the optional detour to Lake Eyasi, a shimmering seasonal soda lake surrounded by dry bushland. This is home to the Hadzabe, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa. With a guide to translate and walk you through their world, you’ll have a rare chance to meet the Hadzabe people, share in their daily traditions, and even join them in a morning hunt or gathering walk. You’ll hear the sharp clicks of their ancient language and watch as they demonstrate survival techniques that have been passed down through generations for over 10,000 years.

If you prefer a more direct route, you’ll head straight toward Tarangire National Park, a hidden gem that often surprises even the most seasoned travelers. Either way, by early afternoon, you’ll arrive at your lodge inside the park, just in time for a relaxed lunch under the shade of towering baobab trees.

Later in the day, you set out on your first game drive in Tarangire. The golden savannahs open up before you, dotted with ancient baobabs and river valleys teeming with life. Tarangire is known for its massive elephant herds, and it’s not long before you spot them—mothers with calves, bulls stretching their trunks to the treetops, and entire families bathing by the riverbanks.

But elephants aren’t the only stars of this show. You may also see lions lounging in the tall grasses, zebras and wildebeests grazing peacefully, and even the elusive leopard tucked away in the trees. Your guide explains that Tarangire boasts the second-highest concentration of wildlife in Tanzania, right after the Serengeti.

As the sun begins to set, painting the landscape in hues of gold and pink, you return to your lodge. The evening is peaceful, with the sounds of the wild echoing in the distance. Over dinner, you reflect on a day that felt like a bridge between two worlds—one ancient, one untamed.

Accommodation

Spend the night at Serian Tarangire Luxury Camp, a Luxury Tented camp Inside Tarangire National Park.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Will be Provided

Day 10: Tarangire to Nungwi beach Via Arusha Airport

Your final morning on safari begins with birdsong and the soft golden light of dawn over Tarangire. After a hearty breakfast, you bid farewell to the elephants and baobabs and set off on a scenic drive to Arusha Airport. It’s time to trade your binoculars for beachwear, as your journey now shifts from the wilds of mainland Tanzania to the tropical shores of Zanzibar—the magical Spice Island.

Your short flight crosses over the shimmering Indian Ocean, and soon you’re descending toward a coastline of turquoise water and powdery white sands. At the airport, a warm smile welcomes you—our Zanzibar representative is already waiting to greet you. You feel the pace of life instantly slow as you step into this coastal paradise.

Before heading to the beach, you may opt for a guided spice plantation tour, where you’ll walk among lush greenery and aromatic plants. Here, Zanzibar’s rich history comes alive as you touch, smell, and taste spices that once brought traders from all over the world. You’ll see how cinnamon is peeled, vanilla is cured, and ginger is harvested, and even sip a cup of freshly brewed spiced tea under the shade of a palm tree.

By early afternoon, you continue the journey to Zanzibar’s northern beaches—a place where time seems to pause. As you drive through sleepy fishing villages and palm-lined roads, the ocean finally comes into view, glimmering like a sapphire beneath the open sky. You arrive at your beachfront resort with plenty of daylight left to dip your toes in the warm Indian Ocean, stroll along the powder-soft sands, or simply unwind under the shade of a swaying coconut palm.

As the sun sets, the sky turns shades of orange and violet, and you begin to settle into your next chapter—one of peace, rest, and seaside bliss.

Accommodation

Spend the night at The Z Hotel, a chic boutique resort on the northern beaches of Zanzibar.

Meals: Breakfast and Lunch will be provided. Dinner is available at the hotel restaurant or nearby local spots.

Day 11 to 14: Full Day Nugwi Beach

The next four days unfold like a dream. You wake up to the sound of soft waves lapping against the shore, and the scent of salt and sea breeze drifts in through your open window. The sun rises slowly over Zanzibar, casting golden rays over swaying palm trees and the glittering ocean. Welcome to paradise.

Each morning begins with a leisurely breakfast by the sea, where fresh tropical fruits, warm pastries, and strong Swahili coffee set the tone for the day. From here, your time is your own.

You might spend your day on the world-renowned Nungwi Beach, at the northern tip of the island. Here, the white sand is so fine it feels like powdered sugar, and the crystal-clear turquoise waters stretch as far as the eye can see. Whether you’re relaxing under the shade of a coconut tree, listening to your favorite playlist, reading a book, or simply letting your mind wander—Nungwi offers the perfect setting to unwind and recharge.

But for those seeking a bit more adventure, the ocean calls. You may choose to snorkel over vibrant coral reefs, where tropical fish dart between anemones and sea fans. Or perhaps you’ll go scuba diving, descending into the underwater world where dolphins play and sea turtles glide silently through the blue. Sunset dhow cruises, stand-up paddleboarding, and kayaking are just a few of the other aquatic experiences available.

Your hotel concierge is ready to help you arrange these activities, ensuring every moment flows effortlessly. In the evenings, you might explore a local seafood grill on the beach, try some Zanzibari cuisine bursting with spices, or simply sip a cold drink as the sky turns pink and the stars begin to shine.

Time stretches out here, unhurried and tranquil. Whether you fill your days with activity or rest, each one will end with a sense of peace and gratitude for this little slice of heaven.

Accommodation:

Spend your nights at The Z Hotel, a boutique beach resort offering luxury, charm, and the best views in Nungwi.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Will be Provided

Day 15: Depart Zanzibar Island

Your final morning in Zanzibar begins with the gentle hush of the waves and the soft golden light spilling through your window. After breakfast, you take one last stroll along the beach, the warm sand between your toes and the salty breeze brushing your skin—a quiet moment to soak in the magic of the island before your journey home begins.

After checking out of your beachside hotel, you will make your way back to Stone Town by midday, where our representative will be ready to escort you to the airport. As you drive through the island, the colorful life of Zanzibar drifts past your window—bustling markets, waving school children, coconut sellers, and the spice-scented air that seems to linger everywhere.

Your departure point will most likely be Zanzibar International Airport, the most convenient option. However, if you are flying out of Dar es Salaam, we will ensure you catch one of the scheduled ferry departures (7:30 am, 9:30 am, 12:30 pm, or 3:30 pm), depending on your flight time. Just remember to allow yourself enough time for the connection.

Alternatively, if your onward journey takes you back to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, we can arrange a short flight from Zanzibar to Nairobi. Please just make sure your outbound flight is not scheduled before 3:00 pm, so you have ample time for your transfer.

As your adventure winds down, you carry with you not just souvenirs and photos, but memories of golden savannahs, ancient crater walls, wild elephants in swamps, flamingos on mirror-like lakes, and the sweet rhythm of island life.

Though the safari ends today, the stories you’ve gathered are only just beginning.

A 12 Day Kenya & Tanzania Adventure Safari Holiday offers an immersive experience in the heart of East Africa, combining wildlife viewing, cultural interactions, and stunning landscapes. These safaris typically include visits to iconic national parks like the Serengeti, Masai Mara, and Ngorongoro Crater, with opportunities to witness the Great Migration, spot the “Big Five,” and explore diverse ecosystems.

Day 1: Kenya, Nairobi

Our safari guide from Simba Gorilla Frontiers will meet you at Nairobi International Airport and transfer you to your hotel in Nairobi. Overnight at the Hotel

Day 2: Kenya, Nairobi – Masai Mara Game Reserve

This morning, we shall drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve on time for lunch before embarking on an afternoon game drive. The jewel in Africa’s crown, Masai Mara, is host to the most spectacular array of wildlife, such as Lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, Rhinos, giraffes, gazelles, and zebras, among others. Game viewing is never dull in the Mara and patience is often rewarded with unique sightings: a pride of lion stalking their prey; a solitary leopard retrieving its kill from the high branches of an acacia tree; a male wildebeest sparring to attract females into their harem; a herd of elephant protecting their young from opportunistic predators. Later return to the Lodge / Camp for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 3: Kenya, Full Day in Masai Mara Game Reserve

A full day is spent game viewing and exploring this natural wonder with a visit to the Mara River, where the wildebeest migration takes place. Here you can see both the hippos and the crocodiles that co-exist in the same waters. The Masai Mara is Kenya’s most popular safari destination and for good reason. It is a vast reserve of endless flat grassland crossed by rivers that play host to wildlife’s most spectacular moments. Its biggest drawcard is the Wildebeest Migration when vast hordes of Wildebeest roar through the park, bringing in their wake a wave of mighty predators. In Masai Mara during the migration, pick a spot by the river and watch enraptured as crocodiles and lions compete to pick off stragglers from the clattering herds of wildebeest.

Optional Afternoon Visit to a Masai Cultural Village: This afternoon, we have an option of joining the Masai dancers donning their African regalia and jingling on their feet, flowing by the rhythm of African beats and dancing to their tunes that will leave you refreshed. Return to the Lodge for Dinner and overnight as above.

Day 4: Kenya, Masai Mara Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park heading straight for a game drive to the world-famous haunt for pink flamingos in the shallow alkaline lake in Kenya’s Rift Valley, and some 62 km2 in extent. The road from Nairobi to Nakuru passes down the Kikuyu escarpment with fine views of the Kedong Valley and the Mountains Suswa and Longonot. The landscape is picturesque, areas of sedge, marsh, and grasslands alternating with rocky cliffs and outcrops. In the late ’80s, the park also became Kenya’s first rhino sanctuary and is today home to both White and Black Rhinos. Lions, leopards, hippos, giraffes, and waterbucks are equally at home in this unique park. Dinner and Overnight at Lodge / Camp

Day 5: Kenya, Nairobi – Amboseli National Park

After an early breakfast, return to Nairobi. Have lunch at Carnivore restaurant, where you will enjoy a meal of game meats. After lunch, proceed to Amboseli National Park, home to the proud Masai tribe and the told and retold ever-lasting snows of Mt. Kilimanjaro, famous for its spectacular views of the peak (weather permitting) and large herds of elephants. Enjoy Game viewing on your way to Your Lodge / Camp for Dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Kenya, Full day in Amboseli National Park

Full-Day in Amboseli with game drives at around 0630 hrs and 1600 hrs. Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro, is one of Kenya’s most popular national parks. It lies 150 miles southeast of Nairobi, very close to the Tanzania border. The snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the clouds dominates every aspect of Amboseli. Dinner and overnight as above.

Day 7: Amboseli – Tanzania, Arusha -Lake Manyara

Morning Breakfast and proceed to Tanzania’s Namanga Border. After clearing with the immigration customs at the Namanga Border Customs clearance, we transfer to Arusha Town for Lunch and later continue to Lake Manyara National Park, where herds of baboons are often seen walking by the succulent forest on the lakeside. This park is most prominent for its tree-climbing lion that can be spotted draped over the branches of acacia trees. Dinner and Overnight at the Lodge/Camp of your Choice.

Day 8: Tanzania, Lake Manyara -Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart to the Serengeti National Park through the Olduvai Gorge, known as the “land of humanity’ for the leavings of prehistoric inhabitants that were found there. Arrive at your lodge in the Serengeti in time for lunch before going for an afternoon game drive. Overnight at Lodge / Camp.

Day 9: Tanzania, Full day Game drive in Serengeti National Park

This morning, after breakfast, continue on your  12 Day Kenya & Tanzania Adventure Safari Holiday and have a morning game drive through the exciting scenery of the Serengeti. Lunch and continue with an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight as above

Day 10: Serengeti Plains – Ngorongoro crater

You will drive to the fabled Ngorongoro Crater with its truly breathtaking views. Continue around the rim, where a crew of guides, a ranger and Masai, and donkeys will be waiting. Begin a marvellous walk in this pristine Masai land. The track takes you partway around the rim of the crater through open woodland and acacia forests. To your right are the remarkably spectacular views of the crater floor below, and to your left are the endless plains of the Serengeti. A very simple camp is set in a remote location where one of the important rivers of the highland volcanoes enters the crater. Dinner and overnight at the lodge / Camp.

Day 11: Full game drive in Ngorongoro National Park

A 3-day Masai Mara safari in Kenya offers a classic wildlife viewing experience, including opportunities to see the “Big Five” (lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos) and other animals like zebras, giraffes, and wildebeest. The Masai Mara National Reserve is known for its vast open plains and abundant wildlife, making it a popular destination for safaris.

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve

Your driver-guide will report to your city hotel and pick you up for the start of the safari, with a picturesque drive descending the Great Rift Valley and onwards to Masai Mara, Kenya’s famous game reserve. Stop briefly en route at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to enjoy the stunning views of an enormous valley system said to be visible from outer space.

You will arrive in Masai Mara in time for lunch. After lunch, you will have an afternoon game drive, which will allow spotting of the magnificent wildlife in the park. The reserve is known for providing excellent predator sightings thanks to its relatively large population of lion, cheetahs, and leopards. Bordering Tanzania, the Mara is in the northern extension of the Serengeti and forms a wildlife corridor between the two countries. You’ll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Explore the Great Mara

You will be taken on two game drives, one in the morning before breakfast and the other in the late afternoon. Early mornings and late afternoons are considered the best times to spot animals as they are most active. To get some of the best game viewing of the day, an early start is needed to beat the heat of the sun. This is the time that the big cats are most active and can provide some of the most dramatic photography, thanks to the beautiful lighting.

To bring more texture to your experience at the Mara, you may want to take advantage of several optional events we offer at an extra cost. Experience a visit to the local Maasai people in their nearby village. Want an unforgettable sight? Take a pre-dawn hot-air balloon ride high above the reserve as the morning light breaks across the golden savannah and witness the herds of wildlife emerging into the day. Your driver-guide can arrange either of these optional excursions at an extra cost.

Day 3: Masai Mara National Reserve – Nairobi

At the break of dawn, embark on your concluding game drive followed by a leisurely breakfast. Check out for a return road transfer to Nairobi. You will be dropped off at the JKIA for your journey home or at your overnight city hotel or residence in Nairobi. End of 3 Day Masai Mara Wildlife Safari Kenya.

These animals cross the crocodile-packed Mara River; most make it across, while the unfortunate ones are feasted on by the hungry crocodiles. The wildebeest migration takes place from July through October.

The Mara is home to thousands of animals, including the Big Five. Enjoy early morning and full-day game drives during which you will spot elephants, antelopes, zebras, leopards, cheetahs, Masai giraffes, impalas, gazelles, lions, and many others. The landscape and vegetation at Amboseli National Park are also a sight to behold.

Early in the morning, after breakfast, you shall drive to Tsavo West National Park for an early morning game drive. With hundreds of thousands of wildlife animals, you shall have the opportunity to spot many wildlife species that inhabit within park. Some of the common species to witness include crocodiles, leopards, lions, giraffes, zebras, mongooses, buffaloes, cheetahs, and others. You shall appreciate the conservation efforts made to save rhinos at Ngulia sanctuary, which is located within the park and houses black Rhinos. One of the best attractions during the game drive is the Mzima Springs- the springs squeeze out over fifty million gallons of water. At sunset, you shall return to the lodge for dinner, relaxation, and overnight.

Day 7: Off to the coastal town of Mombasa

On this day, your beach holiday will begin. After breakfast, start your journey to Mombasa, which is located in Coastal Kenya. Mombasa is famous for the Indian Ocean. You will have your lunch enroute since Mombasa is located miles away.

One of the highlights of a safari is encountering big cats during a game drive. If you are fortunate, you may see lions engaged in their rare daytime activities. It is fascinating to observe the social interactions among pride members, especially the playful cubs under the watchful eyes of their mothers.

After the game drive, return to the camp for a delicious breakfast. Your guide will then take you to a nearby Maasai village, where you can experience the Maasai way of life (this activity is optional). After your visit, return to the camp for lunch before setting out for an evening game drive. You will traverse rolling grasslands dotted with acacia trees and encounter various wildlife, including large herds of elephants, zebras and gazelles. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at the lodge.

Day 3: Masai Mara National Reserve to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, you will have another opportunity to visit a Maasai village. Later, you will check out of the hotel and drive to Lake Nakuru, where lunch will be served en route. Lake Nakuru is one of several Rift Valley lakes, and it boasts a diverse ecosystem that attracts many visitors. The area is known for its flamingos (both greater and lesser) and other water birds. Additionally, the ecosystem supports around 56 different species of mammals, including white rhinos and buffaloes, as well as nearly 450 species of terrestrial birds.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park to Nairobi

On the last day of your tour, you enjoy a peaceful breakfast by Lake Nakuru, where the early light glistens on the water and the sounds of birds fill the air. After breakfast, you begin your journey to Nairobi, driving through the scenic Great Rift Valley, passing lush hills and expansive plains. Along the way, you might spot zebras, giraffes and gazelles. As you approach Nairobi, the city’s vibrant energy takes over, with bustling traffic and lively urban life. A 7 Day Safari in Kenya, Samburu, Masai Mara & Lake Nakuru, encompassing Samburu, Lake Nakuru, and Masai Mara, offers a diverse wildlife experience. The journey begins in Samburu, known for unique species like Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe. Then, it proceeds to Lake Nakuru, famous for its flamingos and rhinos. The safari culminates in the iconic Masai Mara, renowned for the Big Five and the Great Migration (seasonal).

The Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the top safari destinations in Africa, home to an impressive abundance of wildlife, especially big cats. At certain times of the year, we will witness the Wildebeest Great Migration, one of the most spectacular wildlife displays on earth.

Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu Game Reserve – Kenya

The 7 Day Safari in Kenya Samburu, Masai Mara & Lake Nakuru starts with collection from your pre-tour hotel in Nairobi at 7:30 in the morning. Your guide tells you more about the journey ahead before we set off. Leaving Nairobi, we head north via the shoulder of Africa’s second-largest mountain, Mount Kenya, making our way to the Samburu National Reserve. Arriving at our first lodge we have lunch and embark on our first wildlife adventure – an exciting afternoon game drive in Samburu. We overnight at a lodge overlooking the bushveld inside Samburu National Reserve.

Day 2: Samburu National Reserve – Kenya

Day two is set aside for game viewing in Samburu National Reserve, exploring its open grasslands and diverse landscapes in search of the variety of wildlife found here. Samburu hosts beautiful forests, springs, and rivers, offering stunning scenery. The game park is part of a lava plain that includes varied habitats, from thorn scrub, red dirt and dried river beds, to broken volcanic rock, steep hills, and rocky outcrops.

This region of Kenya is home to the uncommon Grevy’s zebra with huge fury ears, gerenuk antelope standing on hind legs to feed, Somali ostriches with distinct blue legs, and the shy Oryx. Elephants and crocodiles are guaranteed sightings and lions, hippos, and giraffes are also found in the reserve. The bird watching is excellent, with over 365 species, including numerous varieties of weaverbirds and the martial eagle. Leopard sightings are also a special feature here. The Samburu area is also home to interesting people with a rich heritage, making for a colorful cultural experience. After a rewarding day of game viewing in the vast Samburu Reserve, we return to our lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening under the stars.

Day 3: Samburu to Lake Nakuru – Kenya

After breakfast we break up camp and hit the road again, game viewing on our way out of Samburu National Reserve. We travel south through Kenya to Lake Nakuru National Park, stopping for lunch en route. Arriving at Lake Nakuru Park we take a scenic afternoon game drive in this compact wildlife area.

This Kenyan game park has retained its reputation as an ornithologist’s delight, with more than 400 species of bird found here. Bird species include the Great White Pelican, African Spoonbill, Yellow-billed Stork, Lesser and Greater Flamingo, and Long-crested Eagle.

The Lake Nakuru National Park surrounds the lake and was first gazetted to protect the rich bird life found here, later becoming a national park to provide sanctuary for endangered species such as the rhino. There are about 25 white and black rhinos, one of the largest concentrations in the country. Predators are also residents of this park while Rothschild’s giraffes have been translocated into the park for safety This small park (180 sq km) is also home to warthogs, baboons, waterbuck, buffaloes, reedbucks, zebras, and the occasional leopard. This evening at our comfortable lodge in the national park we enjoy dinner and a relaxing evening after game spotting and bird watching around the lake.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara – Kenya

Today we depart from the lodge after breakfast and travel south towards the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve, in southwest Kenya. We drive through beautiful savannah grasslands and plains of the Great Rift Valley making our way to our next overnight accommodation, in a private conservancy near Masai Mara. Arriving at our luxury tented camp on the banks of a river, we settle in for a peaceful night under starry African skies.

Day 5: Masai Mara National Reserve – Kenya

The next two days are spent embarking on exhilarating game-viewing drives in Masai Mara. On clear days, the Masai Mara National Reserve offers fantastic orange-tinged sunsets worth capturing on camera. The Mara reserve covers 1510km² of incredible wide-open landscapes and fertile riverine woodlands, following the meanders of the Mara and Talek rivers. One glimpse is enough to explain its appeal as an iconic savannah, with a mass of amazing wildlife. An optional hot-air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost. After our action-packed day of wildlife sightings on the scenic plains of Africa, we return to our tented camp for dinner. Fall asleep in the comfort of your tented room, listening to the sounds of nature.

Day 6: Masai Mara National Reserve – Kenya

Spend another full day exploring the spectacular Masai Mara Park. Wherever you go in the Mara Reserve you will see an abundance of wildlife, such as Masai giraffes, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyenas, topis, impalas, hartebeests, wildebeests, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and hippos. It is common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but are still reasonably common.

The ultimate wildlife action here is, without doubt, the annual wildebeest exodus in July and August when millions of these grass-eaters move north from the Serengeti in search of greener grass before turning south again in October. The Great Migration is one of the most awe-inspiring wildlife spectacles on earth! We spend our final night on safari under star-studded skies at the tranquil camp in the wilderness near Masai Mara.

Day 7: Masai Mara to Nairobi – Kenya

Your last day on budget safari in Kenya kicks off with breakfast at our tented camp in the private Masai Mara Conservancy. Then it is time to leave the African bush behind and drive back to Nairobi. This unforgettable Samburu, Masai Mara & Lake Nakuru Safari ends this afternoon upon arrival in Nairobi. End of 7 Day Safari in Kenya Samburu, Masai Mara & Lake Nakuru.
