A 7 Day Uganda Chimps, Wildlife & Gorilla Safari Holiday focused on chimpanzees, wildlife, and gorillas typically includes visits to Kibale National Park for chimpanzee tracking, Queen Elizabeth National Park for wildlife viewing, and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla trekking. This type of safari offers a blend of primate encounters, diverse wildlife sightings, and breathtaking scenery.

 

Day 1: Arrival At Entebbe International Airport

Upon your arrival, the company guide will warmly welcome you and drive you to the hotel with in Kampala and you will have a chance to enjoy a night out with in Kampala, you can as well opt for a short city tour depending on your time of arrival, have a rest and prepare your amazing journey.

 

Day 2: Transfer To Kibale National Park

Have breakfast at the lodge and after the guide will brief you fully about the safari and after you will start your drive to Kibale National park and have numerous stop overs for some photos and experiments. You will have lunch er-route and then proceed to the park where you will have an overnight and dinner.

 

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking & Transfer To Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have breakfast and head for briefing about the chimp tracking activity. Chimpanzees are man’s closest cousins though they are one of the most threatened primate species. More primates like Black and white Colobus monkeys, L’Hoest Monkeys, Grey cheeked Mangabey, Red tailed monkeys, bush babies, pottos and many bird species like the yellow spotted nicator, rumped tinker bird, Little greenbul, green breasted pitta, the crowned eagle, black bee eater and mammals like Elephants can be seen in this walk. After, transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park and relax on arrival.

 

Day 4: Game drive & a boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have a game drive in the northern part of the park on the Kasenyi Track in search of lions, elephants, solitary buffaloes. This is the best time for opportunities of viewing the cats in action owing to the vast population of Uganda Kobs. We have an excellent chance to view just about every animal here at very close range. Return to the lodge for your breakfast, before heading out for a launch trip along the Kazinga Channel. This gives you the opportunity to view wildlife up close: hippo’s huff and spray at a mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows. The shores of the channel are also home to an array of birds including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others.

 

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park

Have breakfast, you will be transferred to Bwindi impenetrable national park, this journey is so interesting as you get to enjoy the scenic view of the highlands of the great Kigezi region. Arrive in the evening and then check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Have an early morning breakfast, and after proceed to the park headquarters to have a briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking in Bwindi. The rangers will then accompany you to the thick rainforest to start your search for the gentle giants. Trekkers are always advised to carry their raincoats and boots because the weather there is always unpredictable. There are also some potters who always help with the carrying of the luggage on behalf of the visitors, but at a small extra cost. It’s not always easy to predict how long gorilla tracking will take, and this also depends on the location of some families since some of them are far from the park headquarters. However, it always takes 2 to 7 hours to come into contact with them, and the rangers will always be there to guide you. Trackers are also advised to be physically fit before going for tracking. After your trek, go back at the lodge and have a late lunch(or opt for a packed lunch).

 

Day 7: Transfer back to Entebbe Airport

A 10 Day Uganda Safari: Gorillas & Chimp, Wildlife Adventure offers an exciting adventure combining gorilla and chimpanzee tracking with wildlife viewing. The itinerary typically includes visits to Murchison Falls, Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth, and Bwindi Impenetrable National Parks. Travelers can expect game drives, boat cruises, and primate tracking experiences, including gorilla trekking and chimpanzee tracking.

Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe International Airport to Kampala

Our driver/ guide will receive and welcome you to Uganda from Entebbe International Airport. He will transport you to Kampala, the capital city of Uganda, where he will drop you to the hotel and brief you on the history of Uganda and brief on safari. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Our driver will transfer you to Murchison Falls, driving northwest, passing by the famous Luwero Triangle, and then proceed to Masindi via Ziwa Rhino Project. Our driver will drive you to ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino trekking. You will have a lunch stop and then proceed to Murchison falls.

 

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Boat Ride

Early in the morning, you will have a game drive around the northern banks of the River Nile. You have great chances of spotting elephants, lions, giraffes, hartebeest, to list the and bird species. Head for lunch, and afternoon you will go for a boat ride. You will take a boat ride to the bottom of the falls, and you will see how the water forces itself out of the rocks. You will view hippos and other animals drinking water from the riverbank. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

 

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Enjoy an African cup of coffee, and the driver will transfer you to Kibale National Park. You will be view local homesteads, green countryside, and local farms along the Albertine Rift escarpment. The journey takes 7-8 hours by car and you will check in at the hotel on arrival.

 

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and visiting the Bigodi Swamp

Take breakfast, report to headquarters for briefing. Enter the jungle to search for chimpanzees. Game rangers know where to find the chimpanzees easily, after find the chimpanzee spend one hour with them. Return for lunch, after lunch head to Bigodi swamp which is well known for best destination for birds. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

 

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park will start off after your morning breakfast. The driver will drive through the south passing the Crater Lake area, you will be viewing beautiful landscape and rolling hills. You might have a chance of viewing animals from the road from queen elizbeth national park. Check-in to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 7: Morning Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Take African cup of coffee and head to park for game drive, expect to see to see buffaloes, lions to list the few and variety of bird species. Head back to the lodge for lunch, after you go for an exciting boat cruise along the kazinga channel. You will spot a lot of animals during boat ride like hippos, buffalos, and elephant’s drinking water. End of the day back to the lodge.

 

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park

Take African coffee and then the driver will transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for gorilla trekking. You will pass via the Ishaha area where you will see tree-climbing lions and other wildlife. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

 

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking

Take cup of coffee and report to the headquarters for a briefing from the game rangers. You should carry packed lunch from lodge, enough drinking water and trekking equipment. Enter the jungle and the trekking will start. After finding the gorillas family will spend one hour with the gorillas and then return to the lodge.

 

Day 10: Transfer to Kampala

You will have breakfast and after breakfast our driver will be waiting to transfer back to Kampala. You will have stopover from mbarara town for lunch and then proceed to Uganda equator for photo shots. You will arrival to Kampala; the driver will either drop you to the hotel or to Entebbe international airport to catch-up with your flight. A 6 Day Chimps, Gorillas, and Golden Monkey Trekking, you will track chimpanzees and other primates in Nyungwe Forest National Park. Day 1: Arrival at the Kigali International airport.

The journey southwest passes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that characterize much of Rwanda’s landscape. Have your lunch along the way with a stopover at the Nyanza King’s palace. Day 3: Forest National Park + Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk adventure.

On this day, you will enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge before embarking on a thrilling hike in search of chimpanzee communities. The Rwandan chimpanzee population is thought to consist of approximately. 400-500 individuals, confined to the Nyungwe National Park, including a small community in the Cyamudongo Forest. Prepare to hear these excitable primates before you see them, as their pant-hoots travel through the deep forest. During your hike, you may also spot migratory birdlife including the Ross’ turaco, grey-cheeked hornbill, red-breasted sparrow hawk, and regal sunbird. Return to the hotel for lunch, then in the afternoon, proceed with the Canopy Walk adventure for a more thrilling experience. Retire and enjoy property amenities. In the evening, relax at the lodge till dinner.

Day 5: Volcanoes National Park for Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Experiences.

After an early breakfast, you will proceed to the home of mountain Gorillas, the Volcano National Park headquarters – Kinigi to meet your guides for the day. After completing our park formalities, we are embarking on a once in a life time experience of tracking mountain gorillas. Once you spot them, you are allowed to spend an hour watching them do their daily activities. Return to your hotel for lunch or visit any other restaurant of your choice in Musanze town for lunch. Head out for an afternoon of Cultural Experiences at the Gorilla Guardians’ former I’byiwacu Cultural Village. This place is fun with lots of Rwandan history and ancient stories. Feel free to take part in their traditional dance. Return to the hotel for relaxation. Later, order your dinner and rest.

Day 1: Warm welcome to Uganda

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport. A representative from Simba Gorilla Frontiers shall welcome you and transfer you to your accommodation. You shall be briefed by our driver guide regarding the tour, and also respond to all your questions. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 2: Transfer to Sezibwa Falls, Mabira Forest & Jinja

After an early morning breakfast, start your journey off with eastern Uganda. You will drive through Kampala and head eastwards along the Kampala – Jinja highway. The first turn-off is to the Sezibwa Falls, a Buganda cultural heritage site, with beautiful waterfalls and a cool atmosphere. Spend an hour here hiking the rocks, watching birds, and learning about the myths of the falls and the ancient traditional worship that is still practiced here. Thereafter, return to the road and make another stopover at Mabira Rainforest – the largest forest in Central Uganda. Head out for a 2-hour trek to track the habituated Grey-cheeked Mangabeys, watch lots of birds, monkeys, and enjoy the aroma of an African jungle. Return and get back on the road and drive to Jinja. Check in at your accommodation, have lunch, and thereafter head out for an hour boat ride on Lake Victoria to the Source of the Nile after transfer to your lodge.

 

Day 3: Transfer to Mbale – Sipi Falls hike experience

Today on your 18 Day Ultimate Uganda Safari: Gorillas, Chimps, Wildlife & Culture: you will drive out of Jinja and head further eastwards through Mbale town to Sipi Falls in Kapchorwa District. The Sipi Falls are a series of three stunning waterfalls situated in the foothills of Mountain Elgon. The Sipi Falls area, found at the base of Mount Elgon, is particularly famous for Bugisu Arabica Coffee produced and grown by the Local farmers.

Check in at the accommodation (Sipi River Lodge), refresh, and thereafter head out for a 3 – 4-hour trek up and down the foothills of Mountain Elgon, visiting each of the three waterfalls and enjoying spectacular vistas from up Mountain Elgon to the flat plains of Karamoja in the distance. Return to your lodge for lunch. Later, you could opt to walk through the local communities and coffee farmlands. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

 

Day 4: Depart Mount Elgon for Kidepo Valley National Park

Today, after an early breakfast, embark on a long drive to the north of Uganda and get to Kidepo Valley National Park – arguably Africa’s most spectacular wilderness. Lunch en route. Arrive at the park in the evening and transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

The Park lies in the rugged, semi-arid valleys between Uganda’s borders with Sudan and Kenya, some 740 km from Kampala. It has a profusion of big game and hosts over 77 mammal species as well as around 475 bird species. Kidepo is Uganda’s most isolated national park, but the few who make the long journey north agree that it is also the most magnificent and ranks among Africa’s finest wildernesses.

 

Day 5: Explore Kidepo Valley National Park on a game drive

After your early morning breakfast, start your drive through the Narus Valley, where you will have a nature walk to the Hot springs. In the afternoon, after lunch, you will enjoy another game drive. Kidepo Valley National Park is a savannah landscape that extends in all directions. It is home to elephants, zebras, giraffes, huge herds of buffalo, warthogs, duikers, Jackson’s Hartebeest, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hundreds of bird species. Afterward, you will retire to your accommodation, and later in the evening, you may opt to do a community visit.

 

Day 6: Depart the Land of Cheetahs for Murchison Falls National Park

After an early breakfast, check out and depart for Murchison Falls National Park – Uganda’s largest game park. You will stopover in Gulu town to have lunch. You will get to Murchison Falls National Park in the evening, transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 7: Morning Game drive and afternoon boat cruise on the Victoria Nile

After breakfast, depart for an early morning game drive across the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park, where you will have the opportunity of viewing lions, giraffes, elephants, Leopards, Hyenas, buffalo, and Jackson Hartebeest. Oribi, Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, among others. For any birder, this area supports the secretary bird, like the black chested snake eagle, Tawny and Marshal Eagles, Carmine and Swallow-Tailed Bee-Eaters, and many others. Later, you’ll return to your lodge for lunch and after go for an afternoon boat cruise on the Nile, where you will spot lots of animals, including hippos, crocodiles, and several water birds. Thereafter, you will return to your lodge or have an optional evening game drive. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Depart Murchison Falls National Park to Kibale Forest National Park

After a relaxed breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and drive to the top of the falls. While there, you will enjoy the spectacular view of the most powerful waterfall in the world, Murchison Falls. Thereafter, you will transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. On your way, you will have a stopover for lunch in Fort Portal before proceeding to Kibale Forest National Park. you may have a short city drive and then proceed to Kibale Forest National Park, where you will arrive in the late afternoon, check into your accommodation, and spend the rest of the day and overnight at the lodge.

 

Day 9: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi swamp walk

Today, you will track the most famous inhabitants of Kibale National Park, the chimpanzees. With over 1,450 individuals protected within the park, Kibale Forest is home to the largest number of the endangered chimpanzees in Uganda, as well as the threatened red colobus monkey and the rare L’Hoest’s monkey. The forest has one of the highest diversities and densities of primates in Africa, totaling 13 species. In the afternoon, after tracking, you have the opportunity for a guided walk through the swamps of Bigodi. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 10: Drive to Semuliki National Park

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Semuliki National Park, situated about two and a half hours’ drive from Kibale Forest. Upon arrival, hike to the iconic Sempaya Hot Springs. Transfer to your accommodation for lunch, later set out for a game drive for some wildlife sighting which includes Uganda kob, reedbuck, savanna elephant, duiker, waterbuck, warthog, giant forest hog, and birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 11: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today, you will drive to the world-famous Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will stopover in Fort Portal town to have lunch, then you will proceed to the park and have an evening game drive in search of wildlife species such as Hippos, Buffalos, and others. Thereafter, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Briefly, Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most visited game park and arguably the most scenic. The national park protects the vast Savannah plains, bushland, wetlands, and forests that lie at the base of the Rwenzori Mountain range. Kazinga Channel, which flows through the park and connects Lake George in the East to Lake Edward in the West, attracts a rich array of birds and animals, including the infamous Nile crocodile and one of the world’s largest concentrations of hippos. On your first game drive, you will explore the park along with a 200-kilometer network of well-maintained game viewing tracks.

 

Day 12: Morning Game drive and boat cruise along the Kazinga channel

On this day, after your breakfast and head out for an early Morning Game Drive. There are over 100 mammal species that include Lions, Hippos, buffalo, Leopards, Spotted Hyenas, Elephants, and the elusive Giant Forest Hog in this park. The Primates include Chimps, Black and White Colobus Monkeys, Blue, Black-faced Red Colobus, Red-tailed Monkeys, and Olive Baboons.

Later in the day, when the sun is high in the sky and the animals make their way to the river for a drink, we will head to Kazinga Channel for an exciting boat cruise. You will spot more hippos today than you can imagine. Herds of elephants and buffalo will also wander down to the shoreline to bathe in the cooling waters. A boat cruise is a fantastic way to get close to wildlife, and for many visitors, and the highlight of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Important to note that the Kazinga Channel has the highest concentration of Hippos in the World.

 

Day 13: Visit Katwe Salt Lake and the crater lakes visit

On this day, you will have breakfast and head westwards to Katwe Salt Lake for an amazing experience of how salt is mined from the lake, there after you will have lunch and head for a drive to the crater lakes, concluding the day with an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

 

Day 14: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha sector

After breakfast, on your 18 Day Ultimate Uganda Safari: Gorillas, Chimps, Wildlife & Culture, you will have a morning game drive in Ishasha, discovering other hiding spots that the tree-climbing lions enjoy. Afterward, you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The park is home to the endangered mountain gorillas. This fascinating mountain forest hosts chimpanzees and spectacular birds. Then head to the camp and relax for the preparation of gorilla trekking the following day. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

 

Day 15: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Batwa Community Walk

On this day, you will wake up very early, have breakfast, pick a packed lunch, and transfer to at park offices for a briefing by the rangers. You are assigned the habituated gorilla group you shall track and set off into Bwindi Forest to search for the Gorillas. After locating the Gorilla, you will spend one hour with them, then return to find your driver, who will transfer you back to your lodge, refresh, and later visit the Batwa community. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

 

Day 16: Canoe ride and relaxation at Lake Bunyonyi

On this day, you shall have an exciting Canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi. In the afternoon, you may have optional activities: a Canoe boat ride, a swim in the bilharzia-free lake, or you may also explore a nearby village. Residents are happy about your visit and are open to explaining their daily lives or spending all day enjoying the soothing atmosphere of Lake Bunyonyi and the magnificent highland scenery all around. Lunch, dinner, and an overnight at your lodge.

 

Day 17: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park and game drive

After breakfast, on your 18 Day Ultimate Uganda Safari: Gorillas, Chimps, Wildlife & Culture, check out and travel to Lake Mburo National Park. Upon arrival in Lake Mburo, drive through the game trails and view a number of wildlife including zebras, impalas, buffaloes, elands, waterbucks, birds, and marvelous scenery.

Continue to check in at your accommodation, refresh, and have lunch, or you may opt to have Lunch in Mbarara town. Later, set out for a relaxing evening boat ride on Lake Mburo and also view some wildlife, including hippos and several birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 18: Nature walks and transfer back to Kampala/ Entebbe

Early in the morning, have a guided nature walk, return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast. After that, you will start your journey back to Entebbe. Cross the equator and have time to take photos at the equator. Buy a few souvenirs and have a quick picnic lunch. Later, you depart heading to Entebbe International Airport. Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe Airport and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park

Your 6 Day Uganda: Wildlife Safari Chimps & Gorilla Trekking adventure begins today with an early breakfast, preparing you for an exhilarating day of chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest. Kibale Forest National Park is renowned for its high density of primates, including the largest population of chimpanzees in Uganda. You will join a group of trekkers and an experienced guide who will lead you into the dense forest. As you trek through the undergrowth, keep your eyes and ears open for the signs of the playful and vocal chimpanzees. Encountering these primates in their natural habitat is an awe-inspiring experience. You will observe them swinging from trees, grooming each other, and playing on the forest floor. The trek typically lasts between 2-4 hours, depending on the location of the chimps. After this exhilarating experience, you will return to your lodge for lunch. Day 3: Game drive and Boat cruise at Kazinga channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up early for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The cool morning hours are the best time to spot predators like lions and leopards, as well as a variety of other wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, and numerous antelope species. The park is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, with over 600 species recorded. The northern sector, Kasenyi Plains. This area is known for its large herds of elephants, buffalo, and Uganda kob, as well as the elusive lions. After the morning safari, return to the lodge for breakfast and some relaxation. In the afternoon, you will head to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise. This natural channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George and is teeming with wildlife. As you glide along the water, you’ll see hippos, crocodiles, and a multitude of birds at close range. The banks of the channel are often frequented by elephants, buffalo, and other animals, making this one of the most memorable wildlife experiences in Uganda. Return to your lodge.

 

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha Wilderness

After breakfast, you will set off for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. The journey to Bwindi takes approximately 4-5 hours, passing through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions. If time permits, you may take a detour to try and spot these unique predators lounging in fig trees. Arrive at Bwindi in the afternoon and check into your lodge. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a lush and dense rainforest that provides a sanctuary for about half of the world’s mountain gorilla population. It is also a good park for honeymooners and even for all kinds of lovers. Spend the rest of the evening relaxing and preparing for the next day’s thrilling gorilla trek.

 

Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today is the highlight of your safari: gorilla trekking in Bwindi. After an early breakfast, you’ll proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing from the park rangers. You will learn about the gorillas, their behavior, and the rules for tracking them. Accompanied by experienced guides, you will venture into the dense forest to locate a habituated gorilla family. The trek can be strenuous, taking anywhere from 2 to 8 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. The terrain is steep and the forest is thick, but the reward is unparalleled. When you finally encounter the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour observing them as they go about their daily lives. Watching a silverback male, females, and playful juveniles in their natural habitat is a profoundly moving experience. After the trek, return to the lodge for relaxation. In the evening, you can explore the nearby community, visit local craft shops, or simply enjoy the tranquility of the rainforest.

 

Day 6: Transfer back to Entebbe International Airport

Wake up and have a hearty morning breakfast, thereafter, check out of the lodge, and embark on your return journey to Entebbe with en route lunch in Mbarara town. Continue with the journey with another stopover at the Equator Line crossing for a photo shoot and refreshments. Continue to Kamapala Entebbe, arriving in the evening, where the guide will drop you off at the airport in time for your departure journey back home. Day 1: Arrival – Kigali City Tour

Meet and greet at Kigali Airport by our tour guide. Take a brief city tour of Kigali City, starting with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial site. After the tour, embark on a drive to Nyungwe Forest, arriving in Nyanza in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe Forest Lodge

 

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking & Canopy Walk

After breakfast, you will set out for the chimp trek in this rainforest. You will first report to the Park headquarters for a briefing from the Park rangers and then start your trek into the Forest in search of the chimpanzees. You will have the opportunity to see Chimpanzees. There are other primates within the forest, including the Rwenzori colobus, L’hoest’s monkey, the Silver monkey, Owl faced monkey, and the Grey-cheeked Mangabey, and more. In the afternoon, take a canopy walk, an adventure that offers great sightseeing over the forest. After the trek depart for Ruhengeri, the fourth largest town in Rwanda, with its stunning backdrop of three volcanic mountains.  You will reach Volcanoes National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas in the evening. Day 3: Gorilla Trek in Volcanoes National Park

The days starts with an early breakfast at the lodge. Our guide will drive you to Kinigi, home to Volcanoes National Park Offices, where you are to get briefed about gorilla tracking. After getting briefed and assigned to a particular group, start off your trek, guided by local tour guides and rangers. The time for the trek is unpredictable. Experience shows that the trip takes from a mere hike of 1 hour to a full-day hike within the forest. upon meeting the mountain gorillas, you have up to one hour to watch them in the wild. In the afternoon, take an excursion to the Twin Lakes. OR Visit the Ibyiwachu Village to learn about the culture of Rwanda. Overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge

 

Day 4: Transfer to Kigali

After breakfast, leave PNV for Kigali. You will reach Kigali late in the afternoon. If you missed a city tour on the first day, you will take a Kigali city tour. End of 4 Day Rwanda Gorillas and Chimps Adventure.

An 11 Day Rwanda Gorillas Kenya and Masai Mara Safari Adventure combines gorilla trekking in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park with a classic wildlife safari in Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve. The trip is typically managed by a tour operator and involves flying between countries. Key activities include meeting mountain gorillas, game drives to spot the Big Five, and experiencing the Maasai culture. 

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – City tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

You will be met and greeted by one of our Driver guides; after pick-up from the airport, they will drive you to Musanze, depending on your arrival time. Here, you can visit the Kigali city tour and Genocide Memorial, or you can choose to visit this site on your last day. You will have dinner and spend the night at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel.

 

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking

Morning after Breakfast, your Driver Guide will pick you up and drive to the Park Headquarters; you have to be at RDB’s office at 7 am for your Gorillas Tracking Briefings and comments on your tracking day, then the drive toward your starting point and start your experience with Mountain Gorillas, comeback at your Hotel for lunch and relax, in the afternoon visit ibyiwacu Culture Village to experience our traditional culture and back at the Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 3: Golden Monkey trekking

After an early breakfast (6:00 am) at the lodge, you will proceed to the park headquarters in time for the Golden Monkey Trek briefing at 06:45 am. We will then transfer you to the start point of your guide walk, which begins at 07:00 am. The high end will be spending an hour with the remarkably peaceful primates as they go about daily life, feeding, playing, resting, and raising their young. After this memorable experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch in the afternoon and visit two twin Lakes, Burera and Ruhondo, located in Musanze. In the evening, you will return to Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel for dinner and your overnight stay.

 

Day 4: Volcanoes – Kigali – Nairobi

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your outbound flight to Nairobi, Kenya. Please note that the flight from Kigali to Nairobi is not included in the tour package and should be booked separately.

 

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will proceed to the iconic Giraffe Manor, where you will check in and spend the rest of the day enjoying the exclusive experiences the property offers. All activities for the day will take place at the Manor, including the unique opportunity to interact closely with the endangered Rothschild giraffes in a beautifully serene setting.

 

Day 5: Relaxation at The Giraffe Manor

You will enjoy your stay at Giraffe Manor in the leafy suburb of Karen. You will have one night to relax at this charming, comfortable country house hotel. You will meet and feed the rare Rothschild giraffe, for which it is famous, and do as many (or as few) excursions in the area as you like. A vehicle and driver will be at your disposal.

 

Day 7: Explore Sweetwater’s Game Sanctuary

After breakfast, you will get a closer look at the conservancy during two extensive game runs. On the plains, enormous herds of grazing animals, along with predators such as cheetahs and black-maned lions, can be found hiding amidst acacia trees. The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of Ol Pejeta guarantees an unforgettable safari experience! Ol Pejeta Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals, including the non-indigenous chimpanzee, the rare endangered black rhino, ostrich, zebra, oryx, and hartebeest. Later in the day, you will return to Sweetwater’s Tented Camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

 

Day 8: Travel to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, Lake Nakuru National Park is your destination for the day. The park’s lake is well known for the hundreds of thousands of pink flamingos that gather along the shoreline. Your journey will take you through the Great Rift Valley, stopping at one of the highest towns in Kenya, Nyahururu at an elevation of 7700 feet. The main attraction here is the 236-foot Thomson Falls. Part of the Ewaso Nyiro River, these cascading falls tumble to the thick forest below. After lunch at our lodge, an afternoon game drive will take you to see the white and black rhino, the Rothschild giraffe, and the elusive leopards here. Later in the evening, you will have dinner and your overnight stay at the Sarova Lion Hill Lodge.

 

Day 9: Lake Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara National Reserve

After an early breakfast, you will check out and take off on an exciting game drive on your way to Masai Mara. A pleasant drive across the dramatic Great Rift Valley brings you to Narok Township, a Maasai business center. After a short stopover, you will continue to Masai Mara National Reserve. This enormous reserve is part of the vast Serengeti plains, famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration and home to the Big Five: lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, and leopard. Upon arrival at the lodge, you will have lunch and then take off on an exciting afternoon game drive. You will be returning for an enjoyable dinner and your overnight stay at camp.

 

Day 10: Explore Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, you will spend the day in the Masai Mara, one of the greatest wildernesses in the world! You will take part in a morning and afternoon game drive where you will see large numbers of wild game. Residents of the park are giraffes, elands, topis, and thousands of plains game, including impalas, zebras, and gazelles. There is an optional hot-air balloon ride or a trip to Lake Victoria for fishing available at an additional cost while in the Mara. On your final evening, you will take part in a bush sundowner – a glorious al fresco cocktail party overlooking the savannah at sunset. You will have dinner and your overnight stay at Sarova Mara Game Camp.

 

Day 11: Masai Mara National Reserve – Nairobi

You will rise early and take off for your last sunrise game drive before returning to the camp/lodge for a proper sit-down English breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out and drive to Nairobi, where you will check in the hotel for dayroom use, where you can spend the rest of the day at your leisure to take part in some last-minute shopping and sightseeing.
